About the breed
History
The Siberian Husky comes from the Russian Far East, where the Chukchi people first developed it for sled pulling and companionship. It belongs to the Spitz genetic family.
The breed was brought to Nome, Alaska, during the gold rush. In the 1925 serum run, sled teams carried diphtheria serum to Nome.
The American Kennel Club lists it in the Working Group. The Siberian Husky looks similar to the Alaskan Malamute but is smaller.
In Dog Kennel Simulator it’s simply the Husky.
Temperament
The AKC describes the Siberian Husky as loyal, mischievous and outgoing. It barks frequently.
Care
The Husky has a thick double coat, erect triangular ears and distinctive markings. Shedding is seasonal.
Males stand 53–60 cm and weigh 20–27 kg; females stand 51–56 cm and weigh 16–23 kg. The life span is given as 12–14 years.
