About the breed
History
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi comes from Pembrokeshire in Wales and is descended from the Spitz family of dogs. It was bred for herding cattle, and the American Kennel Club lists it in the Herding Group.
The name is Welsh: “cor” and “ci” together mean “dwarf dog”.
The Pembroke is one of two Welsh Corgi breeds; the other is the Cardigan Welsh Corgi.
In Dog Kennel Simulator the breed is simply the Corgi.
Temperament
The AKC describes the Pembroke as affectionate, smart and alert. It likes to be vocal.
Care
The Pembroke stands 25–30 cm. Males weigh up to 14 kg and females up to 13 kg.
Shedding is regular. The life span is given as 12–13 years.
